Instead of building an oversized and often quite bulky looking entertainment center, I convinced Adam, my customer, to have me build it right into the wall, thereby hiding the unshapely depth of the TV and other equipment. Luckily there was an unused space behind the living room wall, the underside of the staircase, that leads to the second story. As an added feature, Adam can plug and unplug his hi-tech equipment easy from behind. I used recycled redwood from an old water tank, very tight and straight grained. The wall is plastered and painted “al fresco”.
