The ‘stela’ – four ceramic tiles forming a perfect cube on a slender steel frame – stands tall and all by itself, contrasting against the rugged coastline of the Pacific Ocean. The picture is taken out on the Mendocino headlands.
& or ‘ampersand’ as it is called, stands for itself, hence the name for this sculpture.
