Courthézon

Information

2003

This wine presenter is made using a stave of an old wine barrel. It holds up to nine bottles of wine. The stave stands tall on a heavy ½” thick steel base with its gravity nicely centered.

To bring the wine from cellar to dining room temperature is a crucial act and needs to be done slowly. In French it is called “chambrer”. This piece is meant to serve that purpose  and display the wine bottles in an attractive way at the same time.

I call my piece ‘Courthézon’ in homage of the little village in the Rhône Valley where I used to spend many vacations during spring and fall breaks.
