Ivory Tower

Information

2002

This CD/DVD tower, topped with a lamp, stands on a sturdy three-layered steel base. Two columns with each nine compartments hold up to 180 CD’s or DVD’s. The strong maple frame with some gorgeous discoloration caused by insects contrasts with the manmade MDF cubicles.

Lucie, my alter-ego and co-designer, sits on the penthouse shelf, well, in the ivory tower. According to the dictionary: Ivory tower, figuratively, a place of mental withdrawal from reality and action; used as a symbol of escapism.
